Girl Scout Troops at Crescent

The Girls Scouts at Crescent are happy to provide two troops with multiple grades. Our younger troop is for girls in Kindergarten through 3rd grade, and the leader is Susan Hopper, 360-928-3878. The older troop is for girls in grade 4 through high school, and is led by Melissa Thetford, 360-928-3311 x1033.

Currently both troops meet twice a month in rooms P-1 and P-2. The day and time of meetings may change from year to year, so please check with the leaders for more information. In the case of after school meetings, parents will need to notify teachers when their daughter needs to go to a meeting after school.

Girl Scouting is for every girl, everywhere—where today's girls can become tomorrow's leaders. Membership in Girl Scouts is open to girls ages 5-17; women and men over 17 can join as adult members.

Most girls join for fun and friendship, but they also find out about building character and self-esteem and serving their communities—the core qualities of Girl Scouting. In Girl Scouts, girls find a safe place to grow and share new experiences, learn to relate to others, develop values, and contribute to society.

Girl Scouts at Crescent School is guided by Susan Hopper and Melissa Thetford, with the help of parent and community volunteers that assist with meetings, trips, cookies sales etc. Girl Scouts is for girls in kindergarten through 12th grade. Kindergarten and 1st grade girls are Daisies, 2nd and 3rd graders are Brownies, 4th and 5th graders are Juniors, 6th – 8th grade are Cadettes, 9th and 10th graders are Seniors, and 11th and 12th graders are Ambassadors.

All Scout meetings are announced via Parent Square and on the district website.

If your daughter would like to join, or you have more questions please call Susan Hopper or Melissa Thetford. Kindergarten through 3rd grade girls should bring a note to their teacher letting them know they will be staying for Girl Scouts and not getting on the bus. Girls need to be promptly picked up at the end of meetings by a designated adult.
